Vera Laska: From Spy Museum to Gaming Miniature
History has a way of finding new life in unexpected places. Vera Laska — resistance fighter, educator, and author — is not only honored at the International Spy Museum in Washington, DC, but she’s also stepping into the world of tabletop gaming.
Bad Squiddo Games has launched a Kickstarter for their Women of WW2 miniatures line, and Vera is one of the standout figures being immortalized in miniature form. Learn more HERE.
A recent review of the set highlighted her incredible story:
“I was particularly taken by Vera Laska (shown above), who had an amazing escape from a train when she’d been captured. If that’s not a 02 Hundred Hours scenario, then I don’t know what is.”
Vera’s life was marked by acts of resistance, courage, and survival — a true narrative of defiance against oppression. To see her remembered not only in museums and books, but now also in games where her story can inspire strategy, imagination, and play, is a testament to her enduring legacy.
And perhaps this resurgence is pointing to something bigger: the time is right for my feature screenplay about her, called RESISTANCE, to make the leap to the big screen.
Paging Hollywood.
